Please use this menu to search for a specific aircraft type.

This drop down menu only includes aircraft types that are displayed in our database. As new pictures are added, we will update the drop down menus to include all types.

You can search for both general and specific aircraft types with this drop down. For example: Selecting "Boeing" will display all Boeing aircraft in the database; selecting "Boeing 737" will display all models of Boeing 737 aircraft; selecting "Boeing 737-800" will display only Boeing 737-800 series aircraft.

Note: 737-800 includes all -800 series aircraft (i.e. -804, -824, -832).

Airline Help

Please use this menu to search for a specific airline.

This drop down menu only includes airlines that currently are displayed in our database. As new pictures are added to our database, we will update our drop down menu.

You can search for specific airlines with this drop down. Selecting "Delta Air Lines" will display all main-line Delta aircraft; selecting "Delta Connection" will display all regional carriers that operate as Delta Connection; selecting "Chautauqua" will display all Chautauqua operated flights (dba any carrier).

To search under "private" or "untitled" airlines please type those values into our keyword search. To search for all aircraft operating under a specific company (i.e. Delta & Delta Connection), please use the keyword search.

Airport Help

Please use this menu to search for a specific locations.

This drop down menu only includes locations that currently are displayed in our database. As new pictures are added to the database, we will update the drop down menu.

You can search by Country, State, or Airport. For example, to see all photos in the database that were taken in the United States, select "United States" from the drop down; select "California" to see photos taken from all airports in California; select "Los Angeles (LAX)" to see only photos taken at LAX.

To search for in-flight pictures, please use the keyword field, or one of the category options.

Category Help

Please use this menu to search for a specific photo categories.

This drop down menu includes categories that are currently displayed in our database.

You can choose to select only pictures that are applied to these categories or try to combine them with one of the other drop down menus.

As new aircraft are added that apply to different categories, you can be sure we will add them!

Keyword Help

Please use this field to search for keywords.

You may search for photos by any keyword. Keywords are especially useful for searching for specific aircraft registrations and airline groupings. For instance, entering "United" will bring up all United mainline and regional partners.

Keywords are not case-sensitive. Currently, you may only enter one keyword at a time.

Photographer Help

Please use this menu to search for a specific photographers.

This field will limit search results to only those photos taken by the selected photographer.

Photographers are listed alphabetically by last name. This list will be updated as new photographers are added to the database.

Year Help

Please use this menu to search for a photos by year taken.

This will limit search results to only those photos taken during the year selected.

Unique Photo Views

The Airplane Photo Zone database calculates views for each photo in the database. Essentially, every time a photo is opened, its "Total Views" will increase. The idea behind this concept is to provide photographers with a sense of how popular their photo is.

To prevent such activities as page refreshing, opening photos countless times, we needed to implement a way to keep views unique.

To do this, every time a photo is opened the IP address of the user is logged. This IP address is remembered for 24 hours, so therefore if the photo is opened again, or the page is refreshed the "Total Photo" views will not increase, but will remain at what it was from the first time the photo was opened. After 24 hours has passed and you open a particular photo again, at that point the count with then again increase.
